How to play Grail99

There's treasure hidden in Boston.

All you have to do is find this image hidden somewhere in Boston (it's printed and stuck somewhere - size is about 4 inches x 4 inches).

Once you find the image, the instructions to claim your cash prize will be on the back of the image. There's no code or puzzle work to do after you find the image.

There's one other requirement (see further below).

How much money could I win?

As of Nov 10th, 7pm, the total prize money was $1,512. See our homepage for a more precise, up-to-date amount. The amount grows as more players play the game and buy GamePasses.

Half of the GamePass money goes to the prize pot and half goes to us (the game organizers).

How to claim the prize

Once you find the image, the instructions to claim your cash prize will be on the back of the image. There's no code or puzzle work to do after you find the image.

We're big fans of transparency. You will have to take a video of yourself with the treasure symbol at the location. You don't have to disclose your name. The point of the video is to prove that the treasure was indeed claimed at the end of the treasure hunt and to maintain a sense of transparency.

Clues

There are daily clues sent out to GamePass holders.

Two days later those clues (as well as their solutions) are posted to our website. So GamePass holders essentially get a 2-day head-start on clues

Clues are images, hints, or basic riddles. Nothing too difficult! But also we're not giving away the location easily. :)

In addition, we've left some other grails not too far from the golden grail. Blue and red grails! Blue means you're close. Red means ever hotter!

When you find the treasure!

First off, congrats! Make sure you do the following:

Record a quick video (minimum 15 seconds long) and post it to Youtube with the title (Grail99 Treasure Nov 2024). The video should be taken on the day you find the prize and should show you picking up the golden grail we left at the treasure location. Email us the video link. Feel free to add anything else you feel like adding (e.g. how you found the prize or who you are!)

You must follow the instructions on the back of the treasure and report to us immediately. Not informing us within the same day of finding the treasure will lead to you being disqualified (in which case the treasure will be hidden again and the hunt will continue.)

Optional GamePass

GamePass holders get daily clues sent out to them. Clues are images, hints, or riddles. They're quite fun and will help you narrow down the location of the treasure.

Two days after each clue is sent out, the solution to the clue will be posted to our website.

Discount code for GamePass

If you purchase a GamePass, you get two discount codes.

One discount code is for you to share with family or friends who want to join the game! It's 25% off.

Other

In the unlikely event that something unexpected happens (for example, a user finds the prize but doesn't film a video or doesn't complete the basic instructions on the back of the treasure), the game creators will come up with a fair resolution to the game.
